Nicotine Pouches

Nicotine pouches (or white pouches) are pre-portioned pouches containing food grade fillers, water, salt, flavourings and pharmacutical grade nicotine. Unlike traditional SNUS, no tobacco is in a nicotine pouch which is what makes them more satisfying, pure and better flavoured to traditional tobacco based products. Nicotine pouches are quite new to Australia and New Zealand but are extremely popular as an alternative to smoking tobacco in Nordic countries as well as the United States.

To use, simply insert a pouch between your upper lip or cheek and your gum. Once inserted (and comfortable), nicotine and taste will be released over a 15 - 30min period. When finished, dispose of the pouch in the rubbish or the lid of your nicotine pouch can which includes a purpose built compartment for used pouches.

If you're new to nicotine pouches it may take some getting used to at first. We recommend getting a mild (lower nicotine) variant to try first. Going directly to a high strength nicotine pouch will likely be overpowering, and cause a stinging sensation if you're not used to it. If you find you're needing something a bit stronger to relieve nicotine cravings then work yourself up to a level that works for you.

Nicotine is an addictive chemical so should be used with extreme caution. If you don't currently use nicotine, don't start! Nicotine pouches are a new innovation intended for use for tobacco users looking for a better alternative. In 2019 the FDA acknowledged Nicotine Pouches as a less harmful alternative to tobacco. In 2020 (New Zealand) the Ministry of Health advised the Health Select committee that oral nicotine products are significantly less harmful than smoking.

Nicotine Pouches are tobacco free.

The nicotine content between nicotine pouches can vary between brands and variants. Nicotine content can be measure in Nicotine mg per can, Nicotine mg per pouch or Nicotine mg per gram. At Pouchlyfe we want to provide a consistent comparison so we display nicotine content as mg per gm. We  classify Low Strength nicotine pouches  as 3-6mg  per gm, Medium Strength as 7-11mg per gm and High Strength as 12mg+ per gm.

This is due to the PH levels in the pouches that help release the nicotine. After a couple of pouches the stinging sensation goes away, and you get used to it. The stinging sensation can be intensified with flavours like citrus and mint.
